Want know more about how this crazy adventure began?
Welcome to Ithaca, New York’s theater and film production house,HOI (House of Ithaqua).
HOI is the fantastical and edgy brainchild of Christopher Teitelbaum. Chris is a graduate in film production from The Park School of Communication and just completed the short film “Bear”. For almost a decade he worked with AWI founder Eliza VanCort as Co-Instructor, teaching the Meisner Technique.
Traditionally film and theater have been considered radically different genres, but Chris believed he could create an intersectional, multi-media production house, and he could find the team to create it right here in Central New York. His vision was to create a company that mounts aphotic plays which unflinchingly lay bare the underbelly of the human experience.
Chris approached longtime friends and collaborators Jeff Hodges, Alek Osinski. Jeff and Alek met Chris while on staff at AWI, and immediately took to the idea. Soon after Ayla, a close friend of Hodges, lent her talents to the group, and they were off and running.
This fall HOI is mounting it’s inaugural production, Bug. They hope you’ll join them as they contribute a new perspective Ithaca’s thriving theater scene.
